MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State Women’s Basketball team will look to defend its home floor while picking up a fourth consecutive win over in-state rival Eastern Kentucky on Thursday evening at Johnson Arena.

The Eagles will be showing their appreciation for their favorite professors at Morehead State by recognizing them during the game.

“I’m really glad to see that we’re recognizing our favorite professors,” said senior forward Jaleesa Avery. “Their guidance in the classroom and support in the stands goes unrecognized sometimes so to have them with us before the game for our fans to see will be a special moment.”

For Avery, Dr. Elizabeth Ash has been her mentor and biggest fan since she transferred to Morehead State from Western Nebraska in 2018.

“Dr. Ash has meant a lot to me since I got here,” said Avery “She’s been a guiding voice for things in-and-out of the classroom and is always cheering me and my teammates on at games.”
