SEC Basketball Players of the Week (12/27/22)


SEC Player of the Week – Missouri guard/forward Kobe Brown, a 6-foot-8, 250-pound senior from Huntsville, Ala., had 31 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and three steals in a 93-71 win over No. 16 Illinois in St. Louis. Mo. Brown shot 10-of-15 from the floor (.667), 3-of-4 from 3-point range (.750), and 8-of-8 from the free throw line (1.000) on his way to a career-high 31 points. It was the largest Missouri win in the Braggin’ Rights series (22 points) and Brown’s 31 points are the most by a Tiger in series history.

SEC Freshman of the Week – Kentucky guard Cason Wallace, a 6-foot-4, 193-pound freshman from Dallas, Texas, had 27 points, nine assists, four steals, and two rebounds in a win over Florida A&M. He converted 10-of-15 field goals (.667) and 5-of-6 3-points attempts against the Rattlers. Wallace’s 27 points are a career-best while the nine assists tied his career mark. He is the first Wildcat in the Calipari era to total at least 27 points, nine assists, and four steals in a game.
