SEC Basketball Players of the Week (12/5/22)


SEC Player of the Week – Arkansas guard Ricky Council IV, a 6-foot-6, 205-pound junior from Durham, N.C., averaged 22.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in wins over Troy and San Jose State. He scored 19 of his 27 points in the second half against Troy as Arkansas erased a two-point halftime deficit. Council had 13 of the Razorbacks’ final 19 points. He only missed one shot attempt (5-of-6 from the field and 6-of-6 from the free throw line) in a 17-point effort against San Jose State.

SEC Freshman of the Week – Alabama forward Noah Clowney, a 6-foot-10, 210-pound freshman from Roebuck, S.C., had 22 points, nine rebounds and four assists in a win over South Dakota State. He established career marks for points (22) and three-pointers made (5).
