The Warren Central Dragons held off a pesky Ashland Blazer Tomcat squad 64-48 to advance to the semifinals of the 2023 UK Healthcare Sweet 16.
Warren Central was only able to open a 7 point advantage at the half but would see that lead cut to 4 in the early part of the third only to extend it to 9 heading into the fourth quarter. Ashland was not able to mount a rally as the Tomcats were only able to score 21 second half points.
Warren Central, who improved to 33-1, were lead in scoring by Chappelle Whitney, Omari Glover added 14 and Kade Unseld chipped in with 13′
Ashland Blazer was paced by Rheyce DeBoard with 21 and Zander Carter had 14 in the losing cause. The Tomcats end the season at 23-12.
