SEC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

SEC Player of the Week – Tennessee forward Jonas Aidoo, a 6-foot-11, 240-pound junior from Durham, N.C., averaged 17.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in wins at Arkansas and over Vanderbilt. He shot 66.7 percent (16-of-24) from the floor on the week. Aidoo paced all players in points (23) and rebounds (12) in a 29-point road victory at Arkansas, notching the third-most points and third-most rebounds of his career. Aidoo shot 11-of-14 (78.6 percent) from the field to set a new career high in makes and post the best field-goal percentage (min. 5 FGM) by a Volunteer this season. He played just 20 minutes in a 35-point win over Vanderbilt, but still finished with 11 points and a game-best eight rebounds. 

SEC Freshman of the Week – Mississippi State guard Josh Hubbard, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound freshman from Madison, Miss., had 19 points, three rebounds and three assists in a win over Arkansas. He scored 14 of his points after halftime, including the go-ahead 3-pointer in the game’s final minute as State won its third straight game.
