MOREHEAD, Ky. — As the Morehead State men’s basketball team fights to the finish striving to earn a spot in the OVC Tournament this season and finish strong at home, it will be an even more special day for two members of the team Saturday when the Eagles host Tennessee State. Game time is set for 3 p.m. ET following the women’s action.

Ten minutes prior to tip-off there will be a ceremony to honor the program’s two seniors, Jordan Walker and Djimon Henson.

The Eagles sit at 12-16 overall and 6-9 in conference games. Tennessee State, which lost at Eastern Kentucky Thursday and has dropped six of the last 10 since defeating MSU in mid January, is 16-12 overall and 8-7 in the league.

The game will air live on ESPN+ and can be heard on WIVY-96.3 FM.

5 TIDBITS ON THE MATCHUP

• Morehead State and Tennessee State meet for the 75th time in their program’s histories Saturday, with MSU holding a 38-36 lead. The Tigers have claimed the win in five of the last six overall contests and have defeated the Eagles in two straight in games played in Morehead.

• Together in four years, the Indianapolis pair of Jordan Walker and Djimon Henson have combined for 2,256 points, 748 made field goals (including 337 three-pointers) and 423 successful free throws.

• Jordan Walker is now ranked No. 14 on Morehead State’s all-time scoring list with 1,442 career points. He needs just nine more points to move up as high as No. 12 past Bob McCann (1984-87 – 1,445) and Ted Hundley (1973-77 – 1,450).

• Jordan Walker also has drained 196 career three-pointers and is now No. 3 on the Morehead State career three-pointers made list. If he drains at least four more, he’ll become one of just three players in program history with 200+ career three-pointers.

• Djimon Henson has reached double figures in points in 14 of the previous 18 games and he recorded his second career double-double Thursday against Belmont with 10 points and 10 rebounds. In the last two seasons, Henson has never had more than three turnovers in a game, doing that only twice.
