Walden Spoils St. Patrick’s Homecoming

Maysville, KY – The Walden Wolverines made the Maysville Saturday to play a role in the St. Saint Patrick’s Homecoming festivities. What they took home was a 67-45 win over the Saints in front of a packed house at the Shamrock.

St. Patrick was short-handed Saturday as three key players were sidelined with either injuries or violation of school policy. Sophomore center Chase Walton was held out as a precautionary measure after experiencing shortness of breath earlier in the week.

Walton is a central figure for St. Patrick who leads the teams in rebounding and contributes 8 to 12 points on any given night. His team missed him Saturday as Walden scored most of their points inside as Coach Aaron Rigdon was forced to go with a smaller lineup.

Jaylan Rigdon led St. Pat with 18 points on the night and was the only Saint to make it to double figures. The loss was the Saint’s 15th on the season as they saw their record fall to 5-15. They return to action Tuesday when they host the Lions of Lewis County.
