The final game of day one of the Mingua Beef Jerky/KHSAA Girl’s Sweet 16 proved to be the best of the day as Anderson County slipped by Franklin County 40-37. Anderson County took the lead at 38-37 with 47.4 seconds left. Franklin County Could not convert on the offensive end as Anderson County scored again with 13 seconds left to take a 3 point advantage. Franklin County held it for the last shot to attempt to tie it up but it came up off the mark. Anderson County was lead by Aiya Jenkins with 15 and Jacie Chesser chipped in with 13. Franklin County was paced by Brooklynn Miles with 15 points and Nevaeh Carter added 12.
Franklin County ends the year at 27-8. Anderson County improves to 31-5 and will take on Casey County on Friday at 1:30 PM.
