Kentucky Looses A Close One To Arkansas

By Peggy Gilligan

The Cats played a good game against Arkansas last night but came up one point short of victory. The guys played as a team, hit three point shots, and rebounded the ball well. The Wildcats hit 14 of 26 three point shots the most by a Kentucky team since 2012. Five Cats were in double figures with Brandon Boston leading the way with seventeen points.

The Wildcats did not have a let down near the end of the game as in previous games. If a couple of calls had gone the other way it may very well have been a Kentucky victory.

Early in the second half Isaiah Jackson and Coach Calipari got upset when the referees failed to call a foul or allow the basket on a play under the basket. Jackson later fouled out and was assessed a technical foul with around eight minutes left in the game. The last foul called against the Cats was also questionable leading to two free throws by Arkansas that allowed  the Hogs to go ahead with four seconds left in the game. Kentucky ran a play that didn’t go as planned and time expired. Cats loose 81-80.

The next game for Kentucky is against Auburn on Saturday at Rupp Arena.
