The Wildcats started the game hitting three of its first four three point shots to take an early lead of 13-5. The team played well it the first half taking a twelve point lead into the locker room at the half.

Isaiah Jackson had a great first half scoring fifteen points, seven rebounds, and hitting 5 of 6 free throws. The team hit 14 of 32 field goals and were 9 of 10 from the charity stripe in the opening half.

In the second half the Cats allowed Vanderbilt to get back into the game but did not surrender the lead. Scotty Pippen Jr. and Dylan Disu combined for 50 of the Commodores points.

Kentucky shot 96% from the free throw line and 8 of 26 from the three point line for 31%. With 12:29 left in the game Isaiah Jackson picked up his fourth (or third) foul. The explanation after the game was that it was four in the official book thus limiting his playing time in the rest of the game. Jacob Toppin shot very well to score sixteen points in his 22 minutes of play.

Overall it was a good win for Kentucky and Calipari said that after the game the locker room was quite happy that they were able to hold on and be victorious.

Next up for Kentucky will be a tough game in Knoxville against Tennessee on Saturday.
