MOREHEAD STATE FOOTBALL ADDS ANOTHER QUARTET TO 2021 COMMITMENT CLASS

MOREHEAD, Ky. — Morehead State football has added four more commitments to the signing class of 2021.

The newest Eagles are wide receiver Ryan Upp (Leesburg, Va./Tuscarora HS), offensive lineman Tommy Wright (Winchester, Ky./George Rogers Clark HS), quarterback Carter Cravens (Cypress, Texas/Cy-Fair HS) and defender Baylor Shook (Van Buren, Ark./Van Buren HS).

Upp played for head coach Brandon Wheelbarger at Tuscarora High School. His junior season in 2019 culminated in a regional appearance with Upp grabbing 70 passes for 880 yards and seven touchdowns. Upp also recorded more than 200 yards through the air as a sophomore. He maintained honor roll status in the classroom throughout his high school career.

Wright played for head coach Oliver Lucas at nearby GRC High School. On the offensive line, he recorded more than 50 pin blocks as a senior. Wright only allowed two sacks his entire prep career. He was a two-time First-Team All-District selection (as a junior and senior) and won his team’s GPA award twice. He was also charged as team captain as a sophomore, junior and senior.

Cravens led Cy-Fair High School and head coach Jeff Miller to a 21-3 record his final two seasons. He passed for 2,064 yards on a 62 percent completion rate with 33 total touchdowns as a senior. In his junior year, Cravens had 1,300 yards and 12 TDs while completing 59 percent of his aerials. Cravens was a unanimous First-Team All-District pick as a senior and was the district’s Newcomer of the Year as a junior. He also earned Academic All-State honors twice.

Shook played for head coach Crosby Tuck at Van Buren in Arkansas. He compiled more than 200 career tackles, including 91 as a senior. His final year also produced 10 tackles for loss, four fumbles forced (three recoveries too), two sacks and an interception. He had 80 stops, including seven behind the opponent line of scrimmage, as a junior. Shook also notched 18 quarterback hurries in his final three seasons. He was named all-conference as a senior.
