  • Kentucky is 16-7 on the season and 9-6 in the SEC, while Ole Miss is 10-10, 4-10 in the league.  
  • This was the 44th all-time meeting between Kentucky and Ole Miss in women’s basketball.
    • The Rebels lead the all-time series 25-19.

Team Notes

  • Kentucky used the starting combination of senior guards Chasity Patterson and Kameron Roach, senior forwards Tatyana Wyatt and KeKe McKinney and junior guard Rhyne Howard. 
    • This was the first time this season that UK has used this starting combination.
    • Rhyne Howard scored first for Kentucky in the game – the sixth time this season she has been the first Wildcat to score. 
    • Jazmine Massengill was the first sub for Kentucky.
      • It was the fifth time Massengill has been the first sub for the Wildcats.
    • Ole Miss won the tip, marking the 17th time this season that UK has lost the opening tip.
  • Kentucky led 22-13 heading into the second quarter thanks to ending the quarter on a 10-2 run. UK’s run was 10-0 before a jumper by Ole Miss with just over a minute to go. 
    • UK went 7-of-14 from the field in the first 10 minutes adding a 7-of-8 mark from free throw.
    • Ole Miss was 5-of-16 from the field in the first quarter and 0-of-3 from long range.
    • Kentucky held a 9-8 mark in rebounds in the first quarter and a 10-6 mark in paint points.
    • UK is 7-3 this season when it scored 20 or more in the first quarter. The losses are at DePaul, at TAMU and vs. Ole Miss. 
  • The Wildcats took a 31-25 lead into the break at halftime, but had a 31-20 lead midway through the quarter before Ole Miss ended the half on a 5-0 run. 
    • UK went the final 4:13 of the second quarter without scoring. The Wildcats missed their last six field goal attempts and hit just 1 of their last 10 attempts from the field. 
    • Ole Miss outscored Kentucky 12-9 in the second quarter.
    • UK’s nine second-quarter points is its fewest this season.
  • The run continued into the third quarter for Ole Miss, scoring back-to-back open layups to start the second half and forcing a UK timeout :45 into the half. 
    • After UK took a 11-point lead with 4:17 to go in the first half, the Rebels answered with a 17-0 run to take a 37-31 lead. 
    • Since that point, UK went 1-of-18 from the field and missed 13 straight shots.
    • The run was broken by Dre’una Edwards hitting a 3 with 6:04 to go in the third quarter.
    • All told, UK went 8:08 of the game without scoring.  
  • Kentucky ended the third quarter on a 6-0 run to cut the Ole Miss lead to 43-42 heading into the final 10 minutes. 
    • The Rebels outscored UK 18-11 in the third quarter.
  • Ole Miss outscored UK 30-27 in the fourth quarter to earn the win.
