Against Kansas, Springer earned his first start since returning from injury to score 13 points, pull down four rebounds and record three assists, while connecting on all seven of his attempts from the foul line.

·   The SEC won the eighth annual SEC/Big 12 Challenge by winning five of the nine games on January 30. The SEC has a 25-24 lead in the event over the last five years.

·   Six SEC teams rank in the Top 40 of the NCAA’s Feb. 1 NET rankings. That is second-most in the nation.

·   Road teams have won 24 of 58 (41.4 percent) conference games played to date.

·   Four teams are ranked in the February 1 Associated Press Top 25 highlighted by Alabama (10th), Tennessee (11th), Missouri (18th) and Florida (22nd).

·   Alabama’s 23 3-pointers made against LSU on Jan. 19 broke the SEC record of 22 that they had set last season and was tied by Auburn earlier this year.

·   Mississippi State head coach Ben Howland registered his 500th career win on Nov. 30 against Texas State.

·   Arkansas’ 142 points against Mississippi Valley St. in the season-opener are the fourth-most in SEC history.

·   Tennessee was the favorite to win the 2021 SEC championship in a preseason poll of media from around the league and nation. Kentucky was picked to finish second and is followed by LSU, Florida and Alabama. Florida’s Keyontae Johnson was selected by the media as the preseason player of the year.

·   Seventy-seven players from SEC schools were on 2020-21 NBA Opening Day rosters. All 14 SEC schools were represented and at least one SEC player is on 28 of 30 NBA rosters.

·   For the second year in a row, 12 SEC players were picked in the 2020 NBA Draft, including six who were chosen in the first round.

·   Georgia’s Anthony Edwards became the fifth SEC player to be picked first overall in the NBA Draft in the last 11 years.

·   The 2020 NBA Draft marked the fourth time (1988, 2015 and 2018) that the SEC had four lottery picks in a single NBA Draft.

·   Nine former SEC players from six different schools were on the rosters of the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals. That was more than double the total of any other conference.
