Kentucky Wins Big In Season Finale

Coach Calipari altered the starting lineup today inserting Jacob Toppin instead of Devin Askew. Davion Mintz took over the point guard duties with great success. The Wildcats seemed to be firing on all cylinders today shooting 49% from the field and 48% from the three point line.

Kentucky took an eight point lead to the locker room at the half and never relinquished it in the second  half.

To start the second, Davion Mintz hit 5 of 5 three point shots increasing Kentucky’s lead to 55-36 with 14:51 left in the game.

Brandon Boston Jr. and Davion Mintz both hit six three point shots. It is  only the second time in UK history that two players have achieved this in a game. Again the Wildcats had four players in double figures.

In the last four minutes of the game Coach Cal was able to get all the subs into the game for the first time all year.

Hopefully this feel good game will give the team some much needed confidence heading into the SEC Tournament in Nashville next week. Kentucky will open tournament play on Thursday at 12 noon against  Mississippi State. Go Cats.
