MOREHEAD, Ky. — With a solid core returning and with the trophy in hand from last season’s Ohio Valley Conference Tournament championship, Morehead State men’s basketball is receiving high praise in early predictions for the 2021-22 season.

Blue Ribbon Magazine has picked the Eagles for a second place finish, while Athlon’s says third, but two Eagles are among the many mentions in the superlatives and all-conference teams.

Sophomore Johni Broome has been selected First-Team All-OVC by both publications, while Athlon’s also has junior Skyelar Potter on its first team.

In addition, Broome was named the OVC’s best rebounder and best NBA prospect by Athlon, and Potter was chosen the best shooter and most versatile athlete.

The official All-OVC Team will be released in mid-October. The Eagles are slated to open the regular season on Nov. 9 at Auburn.
