FOOTBALL’S CAMERON BARRETT NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT FOR SECOND TIME IN CAREER

MOREHEAD, Ky. — Football senior Cameron Barrett has been tabbed to the Academic All-District II Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), marking the second time in his career he has earned the prestigious honor.

Barrett, from Dayton, Ky., owns a 3.80 lifetime college GPA in marketing and has twice been named to the Academic All-PFL Teams as well as being on the PFL Honor Roll his entire career.

On the field, he is finishing his career in style, with 53 total tackles, three interceptions and five pass break ups in 2021 while also helping guide MSU to back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2002 and 2003.

Barrett is the fifth Eagle in program history earn multiple Academic All-District accolades. Five Eagles have also moved on to win Academic All-America honors. Barrett will be on the national ballot for Academic All-America now.
