The number 13 ranked University of Kentucky women’s basketball team opened up the 2021-22 campaign at home Tuesday night with a 81-53 win over the Presbyterian College Blue Hose.

Presbyterian, who plays out of the Big South Conference and is from Clinton South Carolina, got out to a fast start as they led Kentucky 25-15 at the end of the first quarter. The Wildcats were just 5 of 17 in the early on for just 30% and would not get their first field goal until four minutes into the game.

Kentucky would finally get it going in the second quarter as they turned up the defense and were able to convert on some easy buckets. The big momentum changer was Rhyne Howard hitting a long distance shot, that was just inside midcourt, at the buzzer to give the Wildcats a 38-37 lead.
