SEC Basketball Players of the Week (12/12/22)


SEC Player of the Week – LSU forward KJ Williams, a 6-foot-10, 250-pound senior from Cleveland, Miss., had 35 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Wake Forest. Williams helped LSU overcome a 20-point deficit with 24 minutes to play in the game as the Tigers rallied to win 72-70 over Wake Forest in Atlanta. It was the second 30-point game of the season and the sixth of his career.

SEC Co-Freshmen of the Week – Alabama forward Noah Clowney and Arkansas guard Nick Smith Jr. were named SEC Co-Freshmen of the Week. Clowney, a 6-foot-10, 210-pound freshman from Spartanburg, S.C., had 16 points and 11 rebounds in a win at No. 1 Houston. He converted on 58.3 percent (7-of-12) of his field goal attempts. Smith, a 6-foot-5, 185-pound freshman from Jacksonville, Fla., averaged 21.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in wins over UNC Greensboro and Oklahoma.
