Elizabethtown Holds Off McCracken County

The McCracken County Mustangs and Elizabethtown Panthers battled it out in the opening round of the UK Healthcare Boy’s Sweet Sixteen Wednesday at Rupp Arena. Elizabethtown used a stingy defense down the stretch as they downed McCracken County 48-44. The Mustangs committed 16 turnovers for the game and were only 1 of 10 from the field in the final quarter.

Elizabethtown was lead by 6-10 Junior Ayden Evans who had 21 points, 7 blocks and 3 steals. Obian Howard added 10 points for the Panthers.

Meanwhile McCracken County was paced Connor Miller with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Jack McCune chipped in with 14 points.

McCracken County closes out their season at 29-6 while Elizabethtown improves to 24-9 and will play Woodford County Friday in the quarterfinals.
